Giving vote to Secular Parties is Shirk

It is usually understood that shirk only occurs when someone worship or seek help from anyone other than Allah S.W.T. Surely these are the types of shirk prevailing in our societies, but there are other forms of Shirk as well. Among these lesser known shirk is the shirk in Sovereignty. Anyone who believes that anyone other than Allah also has the right to legislate then he has made that person or authority god besides Allah. This concept has been explained in the verse below:

They consider their rabbis and monks and the Christ, son of Mary, to be gods apart from God, even though they had been enjoined to worship only one God, for there is no god but He. Too holy is He for what they ascribe to Him!

Quran Surah Taubah 31

The Prophet (PBUH) said,

Yes they did. They (rabbis and monks) prohibited the allowed for them (Christians and Jews) and allowed the prohibited, and they obeyed them. This is how they worshiped them.)) … They took their rabbis and their monks to be their lords besides Allah… that the Christians and Jews obeyed their monks and rabbis in whatever they allowed or prohibited for them.

Hence it is clear from this explanation that giving authority to legislate to anyone or any authority whether it is Rabbis and Monks, a parliament or a country besides Allah is in fact considering them Gods.

Our efforts in this regard involve spreading the clear religious position regarding giving votes to secular parties through online campaigns, seminars and workshops, submitting requests to election commission of Pakistan to prevent such parties to contest elections with secular manifestos and filing petitions against them where necessary.
